SMEA offers emergency financial assistance to members that qualify, and who have experienced a financial hardship as a result of a catastrophic event, such as a debilitating illness, loss of a dependent family member, or major loss of property from fire or flood. Please note: You must be a member of SMEA for 90 days before you can apply for this assistance.
SMEA also offers opportunities for college scholarships, holiday meal sponsorships, and a back-to-school back program annually.
More information on Emergency Assistance is available under the emergency assistance link online, including an application and our policy guidelines. YOU may never need assistance, but a co-worker, colleague or friend might.
