SMEA helps members and their families when they need it most. However, we can only help those who are members of SMEA. Because SMEA is still a young and growing organization, there are many Save Mart, S-Mart, Lucky, FoodMaxx and MaxxValue employees who don’t know that SMEA is here for them. Let's help each other by signing up coworkers who are not yet members of their employee association. We never know when tragedy is coming.

Why Join?
Balancing work and home life responsibilities can be challenging. By providing a family-friendly program, the Save Mart Employee Association (SMEA) offers opportunities to enhance both work and home lives. OUR MISSION is to provide support and foster a spirit of caring, cooperation, and fellowship in the workplace by providing financial assistance in the case of a catastrophic event resulting in hardship, and to promote social, educational, athletic, fitness, and recreational opportunities for Save Mart employees and their families.
SMEA is a nonprofit organization governed by an all volunteer board of directors, comprised of 15 Save Mart employees (just like you) who participate on different committees, such as a Financial Assistance Committee and Recreations Committee to enhance member benefits.
There are many reasons to join SMEA:
- Discounts & Events: SMEA offers a variety of events throughout each of our geographic areas, including sporting events, water parks and more. Members can also access endless discounts on shopping, travel, services, and enter FREE contest for ticket drawings! Check the discounts section of the website for discount and event info.
- Catastrophic Assistance: SMEA offers emergency financial assistance to members that qualify, and who have experienced a financial hardship as the result of a catastrophic event, such as a debilitating illness, loss of a dependent family member, or major loss of property from fire or flood.
- Other Assistance: SMEA also offers opportunities for college scholarships, holiday meal sponsorships, and a back-to-school back program
More information on Emergency Assistance is available under the emergency assistance link online, including an application and our policy guidelines. YOU may never need assistance, but a co-worker, colleague or friend might. For just $1 a week YOU can help assist a Save Mart Employee Association member and their family during the most tragic of times. It's a wonderful feeling!
